Red Fox Wrestling!

Would you be interested in watching young Red Fox kits wrestling? Do you want to see adorable pups in battle training? How do you like fluffy little cubs biting and attempting to “kill” one another? If so, you’re in luck! As in previous Red Fox postings I shot these through a window from afar for the safety of the competitors as well as the photographer (and this would never happen if they could see me!)… Everything these little ones do is precisely what a litter of your pet puppies would do, and they all seem to have their distinct personalities. They are also extremely tiny compared to her already small stature. These are very young pups! Despite the fact they are mammalian predators mom...

Red Fox Entering Snowy Den

I had a split second to raise my camera, aim, and shoot at this Red Fox on Wednesday before it quickly darted back into its den. I included the first photo of it looking at me despite the fact I unfortunately focused on the grass that covered its eye, bah! If my aim had been a fraction of an inch to the side, or that one blade was not in the way, I would have been a very happy man. That is the nature of…nature…photography when you often do not get a second chance for a great shot. Nevertheless, I loved the red and brown colors of this animal contrasting against the still...
