RTPI is pleased to welcome the bronze works of Stefan Savides to the galleries beginning Friday, April 3, 2020. Savides’ avian subjects are portrayed in breathtaking and lifelike bronze designs. RTPI displayed one of Savides’ works when featuring the 2015 Society of Animal Artist’s annual exhibition, Art and the Animal, in their galleries.

Savides’ life is about birds and art. He has never worked a day in his life that he was not recreating birds in one form or another. While taxidermy, which he has worked his way to the top of his profession internationally, has been his mainstay for most of his adult life, this multi-talented artist, from a young age, has painted, carved, mounted, and sculpted birds. He has proven himself in a variety of mediums and venues. Years of intense study coupled with a flair for simplistic design equates to renderings that capture the essence of his subjects in tasteful clean works of art.

A LIFE IN THE WILD is an exhibition containing 40 of Mangelsen’s most resonant images—images that take viewers on a journey into the haunts of iconic species whose struggles for survival are metaphorical fulcrums for reflection in the 21st century.

Renowned American nature photographer Thomas D. Mangelsen has traveled throughout the natural world for nearly 50 years observing and photographing the Earth’s last great wild places. From polar bears in the Arctic to vast herds of game on the plains of Africa, from the deep jungles of South America to the tigers of India, to images revealing the diversity of wildlife in the American West, Mangelsen has captured rare moments and vast panoramas from all seven continents.
