Cell Phone Tour Work Continues

Posted on Dec 1, 2014

Now that the harvest season has come to a close, Thanksgiving has passed and all the leaves are finally on the ground, we are getting ready for the snow to fly and for another year of our “Nature at Your Fingertips” cell phone tour to hit the snowmobile trails! Development of this tour was made possible in part through support from the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. This past weekend we bundled up and erected more of our signs in preparation for the season opener on December 17th (weather willing of course!). This year’s tour will feature 25 stops packed full of fascinating natural history and historical happenings, all accessible right at your fingertips! So this winter season be on the lookout for the blue, snowy owl signs pictured below at key locations throughout the county trails, and most importantly think snow!

Lake Effect Trail Breakers Tour Stop

This stop, located in Hatch Creek State Forest, falls on Lake Effect Trail Breaker’s trail system that traverses through Gerry, Sinclairville, Ellington and Kennedy.
