You may not be able to see the vivid ruby on this Ruby-crowned Kinglet (Regulus calendula) but you’ll be able to see a lot of the tiny species soon if you have not already this fall.
Birds moved south last night in large numbers in the wake of the strong cold front that passed through the northeast yesterday. At RTPI we only spotted one Ruby-crowned Kinglet this morning, but there were several Golden Crowned Kinglets among additional migrants. Good birding to all!
