Round-leaved Sundew (Drosera rotundifolia)

Posted on Jun 18, 2014

This particular round-leaved sundew (Drosera rotundifolia) appears to have gotten itself a meal. If you look closely, there is a small insect stuck to the glandular hairs in the leaf to the left. To the sundew, a nutrient packed bug makes an excellent meal, but for the rest of us, that probably doesn’t sound too appealing.
