Program: The Roger Tory Peterson Institute Ornithological Club will meet on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at 7 pm in the meeting room as usual. This meeting will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of RTPIOC. Our speaker will be Dr. Gerald Rising, a nationally recognized educator and writer. He is a SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus at the University of Buffalo.
His recent publication, “Birds and Birdwatchers”, according to his publisher, William R. Parks, Hershey, PA, is a miscellany of essays for birding neophyte to professional ornithologist. He has been a recreational birdwatcher of 80 years and his publisher states, “Rising brings that experience to the informal essays in this book many of which appeared during his 25-year tenure as weekly “Nature Watch” column in the “Buffalo News”. He will likely read to us from his book which he will have available for purchase.
