For some, snow is simply a burden. But for myself (and I’m sure there are others!), snow brings a positive change in attitude. Hearing Christmas music for a month straight doesn’t necessarily put me in a celebratory mood, but a blanket of snow illuminated by colorful lights and accompanied by a quiet stillness that seems to intensify as every flake descends really gets me into the holiday spirit. Winter Tour Wrap Up

This past winter certainly was an interesting one! With swinging temperatures and sporadic snow storms, much of the area was pretty barren for a majority of the winter season. However, when snow came it was often just enough to get trails prepared and open for snowmobile, ski, snowshoe and foot traffic to pass through. This weekend is going to be a B-E-A-Utiful one for all that enjoy getting outdoors during this time of year in Chautauqua County! With the latest storms passing through from the Midwest this week, there is ample snow for everyone to play in. It’s official! Hunting season is over and opening day of the snowmobiling season is upon us. Although we are patiently waiting for more snow to arrive and trails to open, we are busily putting the finishing touches on our “Nature at Your Fingertips” Snowmobile Cell Phone Tour. This year our tour stops will be easy to find thanks to the Snowmobile Clubs of Chautauqua County for including them onto the county snowmobile trail map.
