This is the final week to see From Field to Frame by Michael DiGiorgio at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History in Jamestown, New York as the exhibition ends on Thursday, February 25. We are back to our regular hours and hope that you stop in at RTPI today, tomorrow or Thursday. February Arrives

The transition from January into February is usually one without many colors, though this sunset on the final night of January was spectacular over the water. The pink glow from the sun below the horizon makes me think of everything from Valentine’s Day to the Northern Cardinal males beginning to sing in our yards on the warm and sunny days as they stake out their territories and sound out for mates, if they do not already have one. Come visit the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History in Jamestown, New York this weekend to see the artwork of Michael DiGiorgio in our continuing exhibition, From Field to Frame, featuring original bird paintings by the artist. On the advice of his friend and mentor, the late Don Eckelberry, DiGiorgio has been painting and sketching birds from life since early in his career.
