Red-capped Manakins (Ceratopipra mentalis)

Here we have the Red-capped Manakin (Ceratopipra mentalis), a species that commonly performs outlandish competitive dancing displays alongside other males. These areas, leks, are typically on branches to really feel the “music” and get their dance moves going. According to Sean Red-capped Manakin’s final move is a slide back reminiscent of Michael Jackson’s moonwalk.
