Update on RTPI’s Winter Phone Cell Tour

For some, snow is simply a burden. But for myself (and I’m sure there are others!), snow brings a positive change in attitude. Hearing Christmas music for a month straight doesn’t necessarily put me in a celebratory mood, but a blanket of snow illuminated by colorful lights and accompanied by a quiet stillness that seems to intensify as every flake descends really gets me into the holiday spirit. Along these lines, snow also gets me excited for outdoor recreation opportunities and for being able to enjoy the landscape with a completely different view. It also draws countless...

Protecting Our Trails by Protecting Our Trees

Snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or hiking through Chautauqua County’s trails is an experience like none other. The area features beautiful rolling hills, deep valleys, wide open fields and thick forested tracts, tickling anyone’s sense of adventure. Come see these new features and a demonstration of how it all works this weekend at the Mayville Snowmobile Show hosted by the Chautauqua Suites Meeting and Expo Center and 3 Seas Recreation at Chautauqua Suites. Stop by the...

Come Visit Us at the Snow Show!

With last weekend’s storm marking the region’s first winter blast, many are ready to head south while the rest of us are getting prepared for the hopes of a snowy season. Personally I’m hoping for a VERY snowy winter so that outdoor recreationalists will get the chance to take part in the fourth iteration of the “Nature at Your Fingertips” cell phone tour! Once again RTPI is working closely with the snowmobile clubs of Chautauqua County to make this project happen, and our friends at Orbitist have added several new features to the platform making it even easier to...
