Summer Camp Programs
Roger Tory Peterson’s illustrious career as an artist and naturalist began with backyard explorations and keen observations of the creatures that he encountered his own neighborhood. RTPI offers hands-on, integrated arts and nature activities that can be customized to suit the needs of your summer day camp program. Activities include keeping field journals, learning how to identify plants and animals using a Peterson field guide, conducting biological surveys and scientific experiments, playing educational games, and creating nature-focused arts and crafts.
RTPI summer camp programs are normally also available through Chautauqua Institution’s Boys and Girls Club and the Jamestown Public School System’s Summer LEAP Program, however due to COVID-19 concerns we are currently not offering any summer camps. Please contact Melanie Smith, Manager of Education and Communications at 716-665-2473 x221 or msmith@rtpi.org for details on future offerings.
