Perpetual golden shades

It seems like we cannot stop producing yellow and bright golden shades this autumn as many trees are still hanging on to leaves. The seemingly perpetual color is certainly welcome to stick around for as long as it likes. Even a few maples are continuing to produce a lot of bright hues at this late fall foliage date. Go outside and enjoy it all this weekend, even with the chillier November air!

Sunlight on an autumn Tulip Tree

This Tulip Tree (Liriodendron tulipifera) certainly looks beautifully imposing surrounded by yellow and orange shades while bathed in golden autumn sunlight. The towering tree is magnificent against the slowly sinking sun as our days get shorter…winter will be knocking on the door soon in the Chautauqua-Allegheny region.

Fireball in the blue

I took this photo yesterday minutes from RTPI in Jamestown. We are about to hit the peak of fall foliage in Western New York and this weekend’s clear, deep blue, autumn skies made for some magnificent moments. If you have the day off from work or school tomorrow please be sure to find some time for a hike, birding, a run, some biking – anything to disconnect and get outdoors for a while.
