RTPI to Host Holiday Open House December 7th
RTPI will hold their annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 7, from 10:00AM – 5:00PM. Visitors will enjoy free admission into our galleries, light refreshments, and a chance to win a gift bag filled with unique items from our museum store. This event is part of Swedish Market Day in Jamestown – Julmarknad, organized by the Scandinavian Studies Program at Jamestown Community College. An elegant sculpture entitled “Well-Feathered Arrow” by Dale Weiler is currently on view in our new exhibition, “The Weilers Evolution; A Father and Son’s Artistic Journey”. But this lovely piece is actually a reincarnation of the original piece entitled “Fluid Dynamics” that was intended to be debuted here as part of the Society of Animal Artists Show in 2015! This summer our building underwent a lot of changes in order to accommodate the fabulous Art and the Animal exhibit. New panels for the library, fixed up pedestals, lots of spackle and a coating of fresh paint on all the walls made the building look fresh and ready for all the beautiful paintings and sculptures. Since the close of the exhibit, the pieces selected for the tour have since been shipped to the next venue and the building is being prepared once again for a new exhibit.
